Welcome to the Commerce Department at MSS College, a vibrant and dynamic community of scholars and learners that has been an integral part of the college since its inception. The Department has immense pleasure in acknowledging a full-fledged teaching fraternity and they bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the classroom, ensuring that our students receive the best possible education.
We offer a comprehensive Bachelor of Commerce program, complemented by finance, with an intake of 40 students each year. This program brings out reflective and scientific thinking in the students which makes them inquisitive and curious to get deep insights of the business world and tackle practical realities of the emerging business areas with much knowledge and wisdom.

B. Com Finance

Bachelor of Commerce in Finance is an undergraduate course offered by the Kannur University. The course aims at equipping the students to cope with the emerging trends and challenges in the industrial and business world. Along with Language, Foundation, Core, Complementary and Open Courses to the elective stream Finance. These courses enable the students to take financial decisions in an efficient manner and thereby exploring the finance related careers in India as well as in foreign countries. The course provides an overview on Financial Management, Investment management, Financial Services, Taxation, Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Cost Accounting and Management Accounting which will help students placed in jobs in the field of accounting. The course also shapes students qualified to build their career in the field of Financial Administration, Financial Planning, Auditing, Accounting, Wealth Management, Property Valuation etc. B.Com in Finance acts as a strong base for higher level programmes such as M. Com., MBA, CA, CMA, CS, CFA etc.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The Department conducts a variety of cultural and academic events every year. The department, in association with the Entrepreneurship Development club, conducts Start-up Idea competition and a follow-up programme, which allows the students to chase their entrepreneurial talents. The department also conducts a yearly Commerce and Management fest, including quiz competition, a corporate walk, best manager, etc. Association day celebrations are seen as a prestigious event and students participate with passion and enthusiasm. In addition the department conducts Seminars, Invited talks, Field trips etc. promoting the overall development of the students.
